Une leçon Made in Shunde

“Analyse comparative de l’esprit entrepreneurial des chinois de Foshan et des malgaches d’Antananarivo”, tel pourra être le sujet d’une recherche qui contribuera énormément au développement de l’entrepreneuriat dans la Grande île. Souvent on ne lit ni les thèses ni les livres; Cela sert souvent d’objet décoratif ou d’un livre en plus dans sa bibliothèque (si on en a,  bien sur!)

Je me souviens des touristes asiatiques, spécialement nippons et chinois, qui prennaient tout et n’importe quoi en photo. L’objectif d’un tel geste, quoique, pas vraiment dérisoire? Benchmarker… Ou plutôt copier pour soi le meilleur de ce qu’a fait l’autre. Et les asiatiques poussent plus loin le bouchon : copier - améliorer - baisser le coût - fiabiliser là où il faut.

Chiik! Chiiik! chiik! l’appareil photo argentique d’antan faisait autant de bruit que l’inspiration qui animait le geste. Les Occidentaux ne le voyaient pas venir. L’Afrique ignore encore la puissance de ces dragons de l’Est et plus particulièrement ceux du Sud-Est. Macau, Taiwan, Hong Kong et la Chine, d’une part (parce que c’est quand même différent) et Japon, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysie, Viet-Nam et Phillipine d’autre part.

Pour l’instant, restons en Chine et voyons ce qui semble être intéressant pour les malgaches.

Les occidentaux, et particulièrement les Nord américains avaient eux-aussi une base solide qui aidait leur population et les autres fans à vouloir faire mieux et faire plus. On parlait des American Dream ou encore des golden Boy ou au mieux les Self-Made Man. Cela a beaucoup appris les asiatiques avec leur appareil photo accroché à leur nuque et pendant au bout de leur cou.

Je fais un va et vient redactionnel et je reviens à Shunde où se trouve un esprit entrepreneurial hors du commun. En effet, le hobby de la population locale est de créer, de lancer et de diriger une ou plusieurs entreprise. Les longues études, on ne les fait pas, trop peu pour les entrepreneurs, on les laisse pour ceux qui n’osent pas prendre du risque ou ceux qui veulent partir aux Etat-Unis ou en Angleterre pour tenter de chercher la dernière technologie à copier ou tout simplement fuir et rêver une nouvelle liberté hors de quelques filtres et censures.

Ces chinois aiment entreprendre, l’argent c’est sacré et c’est dommage car tout n’est pas toujours question d’argent, du moins pour ceux qui possèdent un minimum de scrupules. Mais restons dans la partie positive de la chose. L’entrepreneuriat que tout le monde tente d’inculquer au lambda malgache est tellement si accessible et naturel à Foshan, une ville voisine de Guangzhou, préfecture de Guandong. Lors qu’on sait que le PIB par habitant dépasse les 40,000Yuans ou l’équivalent de plus de 12millions d’Ariary, on est tenté d’adopter leur stratégie de Benchmarking. C’est peu par rapport à d’autre pays mais significatif vu l’évolution économique du pays.

 

Cette année, la ville de Shanghaï accueillera, en tant que première ville d’un pays en développement, l’Exposition Universelle. C’est un signe qui ne trompe pas… (Même si Foshan est quand même assez éloignée de Shanghai comme Manhattan est loin d’Alberta)

Le malgache n’a pas de culture entrepreneuriale. Le “Business” généralement connu dans le pays n’appartient pas du tout à cette culture. Ce qui est aussi dommage car on nous a appris à attendre, à recevoir et à faire la grève si tout ne correspond pas à nos attentes. C’est ce qu’il y a à changer maintenant. On s’arrache les cheveux à vouloir tant développer l’entrepreneuriat en milieu rural mais en milieu urbain ce n’est pas toujours très développé et avec l’exode rural, la population urbaine ne trouve pas de travail. Un emploi décent…

Great nations came after great fight

I was wondering how former political crisis in Madagascar could really help the country to improve its way of living and its economy. Building a “great” nation is not such an easy thing but it could be very helpful to benchmark what was hapenning to the nations which have known war and big troubles. 

Malagasy should learn from the others…

When I was in Jozi, I visited the Mandela House in Soweto, I think it is located in Orlando West. This small house is plenty of great symbols. The story is that it was the first house “Madiba” really owned himself and he is very proud of it. 27 or 28 years in jail was not so lost. Those years contribute to strenghten the new era foundation. 

Madagascar is not so far from South Africa, it is within 3 hours flight from Johannesburg in South Africa. The main symbol of this house reminds me some other amazing stories of great nations that had known war. I was thinking about Germany, Japan, China, The USA, and so forth. I knew much more about apartheid and I could feel black people’s frustration during this tough part of their story.

In 2010, Madagascar will celebrate its 50th independence anniversary. Sometimes, I am asking myself if we are truly inependent. I have my own idea but it would be “politically incorrect” as we can say it in french. Let’s say : 50 years of manipulation and lie. It is said malagasy people are lazy. Sure, they could be but the right way was not shown to them.

People around me were trying to compare the actual life of former british and french colonies. some of these guys think that Madagascar ought to have belonged to commonwealth… As far as I am concerned, this idea is not so good if we take look at what happen to Zimbabwe. And how about Rwanda, Bosnia, Irak and Libanon?  These countries had also known some big troubles and how is it about now? I don’t know but in my opinion, they are in the right track to succeed. I might be wrong but we can explore this way.

-          les marchands ambulants ouvrent leurs étalages mobiles sur les trottoirs (Soarano, Behoririka, Besarety, Anosibe) et sur les pistes cyclables (le long et de part et d’autre d’Anosibe)

-          les cyclistes roulent sur les voies rapides (toujours à Anosibe)

-          les routes de trois voies deviennent des rues à une voie (toujours à Behoririka et Soarano, en particulier à l’approche des festivités nationales)

-          les passants discutent au milieu de la route et au milieu des passages zebrés (Avenue de l’indépendance et ailleurs)

-          les mécaniciens étendent leur atelier et garage sur les trottoirs des rues à grandes fréquentations et au milieu de la route (cas des nouveaux magasins chinois revendeurs de moto du côté d’Andrefan’Ambohijanahary, cas des magasins indopakistanais du côté de Tsaralalàna qui assemblent leurs vélos en pièces détachés, cas des garages de Besarety, Andraisoro, Nanisana, …)

-          les feux tricolores? une génération croit que le peu qui reste à Andohan’Analakely sert de décoration urbaine et beaucoup pense que les feux carrés temporaires de 67ha sont des lumières pour faire joli

-          les taxis be pensent que leur arrêt obligatoire doit occuper une voie entière (Analamahitsy, Ambohijatovo, Anosy, …) et que leurs chauffeurs ont tous les droits et peuvent gueuler sur ceux qui hasardent de leur lancer quelques remarques

-          les urnes transparentes ne le sont pas assez et pour éviter toute fraude électorale mieux vaut prendre le pouvoir dans la rue, telle est la démocratie malgache

-          les taxis ont le droit de caler un peu partout et d’être en panne sèche au beau milieu des carrefours à très grandes fréquentations, ils peuvent aussi rouler à 5km/h en faible pente le moteur coupé

-          les riverains des bas quartiers et des quartiers mal famés jettent leur eau sale et usagée sur le goudron des rues récemment rafistolées et qui ne contiennent même pas de canalisation

-          les grosses 4×4 arpentent les rues “ornées” de nids de poule et d’autruche, normal souvent l’administration les achètent avec l’argent des contribuables

-          les patrons expatriés sont payés plus de 30 fois le salaire des patrons malgaches et 1000 fois le salaire d’un ouvrier dans une entreprise franche sans compter certains avantages

-          un jeune du bas quartier n’a pas de travail et arrive mal à rejoindre les deux bouts, il pratique les arts martiaux pour mieux s’en sortir mais n’intègre pas les société de sécurité car elles paient moins que le cambriolage ou le grand banditisme

-          un haut fonctionnaire est prêt à payer les hommes forts du moment pour retrouver son ancien poste

-          quelques patrons possèdent leur propre force de sécurité bien armée pour faire face à un éventuel racket

-          les enfants jouent à la déstabilisation politique pendant la récré…
